Sexual Hero’s Journey

I use what I call the “Sexual Hero’s Journey” when writing most of my stories (though I drop some steps in the much shorter ones, most of these are hit in the Broken Arrow stories). It’s based on the standard 3 act structure with the “Hero’s Journey” fit into it for basic story structure people will feel in tune with while reading. The percentages are guidelines and there’s plenty of space that can be budged in one direction or another. This I further modified for fitting into a sexual encounter rather than a battle with ultimate evil or whatever.

Act I - (apx 25% of the story)

• Ordinary World (apx 5% of story) - Introduce the main character. A good place for exposition, physical descriptions, and inner thoughts or concerns. Thoughts and conversations about taxes, work, grades, life in general.
• Call to adventure (apx 5% of story) - This is where I usually set the scene/rules for why someone is going to have sex. In a freeuse setting, this is often where I’ll explore the reasons, laws, rules, etc.
• Refusal of the call (apx 5% of story) - a moment of doubt or concern about the freeuse society or about themselves and their place in the world is often explored at this juncture.
• Meeting the Mentor (apx 5% of story) - The person or persons that my main character or characters will be servicing sexually usually show up around this point.
• Crossing The Threshold (apx 5% of story) - This is where I describe the first steps of the sex scene. Clothes removed, positions set, and generally tone of the encounter.

Act II - (apx 50% of the story):

• Tests, Allies, Enemies (apx 12.5% of story) - The sexual scene begins to escalate. Is it a friendly encounter, a rough hate fuck, or perhaps something in which the protagonist is simply used in an absent minded fashion?
• Approach To The Inmost Cave (apx 12.5% of story) - The protagonist begins to lose her/himself in the sexual act. Their perceptions fade into a more instinctual or animalistic manner, but they are still aware of who they are and various thoughts about what is happening will be expressed.
• Supreme Ordeal (apx 12.5% of story) - The protagonist loses herself in the moment, driven to a point of mindless reaction to the pleasure and pains of the sexual encounter. She becomes one with fuck, reveling in a moment of Zen clarity as she falls over the edge.
• Reward (apx 12.5% of story) - Climax is obtained. The protagonist may have an orgasm or may simply receive the reward of her partner’s orgasm.

Act III - (apx 25% of the story):

• The Road Back (apx 8.33% of story) - The protagonist returns from the hazy mindset that set in while being fucked and begins to contemplate the experience.
• Resurrection (apx 8.33% of story) - Vitality and mind return. The main character will begin to speak and interact relatively normally. Putting clothes back on, cleaning up, etc.
• Return With The Elixir (apx 8.33% of story) - As the story ends, the protagonist will realize that she has gained some new perspective or knowledge about herself as a sexual creature.
